About Our Burmese Python

The Burmese Python (Python bivittatus) is one of the largest and most powerful snake species in the world. Native to Southeast Asia, it is commonly found in countries such as Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia. With its bold markings, thick body, and incredible strength, the Burmese Python is both impressive and formidable.

These non-venomous snakes can grow over 5 metres in length and weigh more than 90 kilograms. They inhabit a variety of ecosystems, including grasslands, forests, and marshes, and are excellent swimmers and climbers.

As ambush predators, Burmese Pythons rely on stealth and sensory perception to detect their prey, which ranges from mammals and birds to other reptiles. They kill by constriction—coiling around their prey and suffocating it before swallowing it whole.

Help Protect Burmese Python - Adopt Today!

You can support the care of this incredible animal by adopting one today. Animal adoptions at Thrigby Hall help fund essential food, care, and conservation efforts. Adoptions make a thoughtful gift and are a great way to support endangered species.
