About Our Siamese Crocodile

The Siamese crocodile is a freshwater species once found across much of Southeast Asia, including parts of Indonesia, Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, and beyond. Medium in size and shy by nature, this crocodile is now critically endangered and has disappeared from nearly all of its original range.

Like other crocodiles, it’s a skilled predator, feeding on a wide variety of animals including fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and small mammals. Sadly, human activity—such as habitat destruction and disturbance—has pushed wild populations to the brink. Today, the Siamese crocodile survives in only a few scattered pockets of the wild. While over 700,000 individuals are kept on commercial farms across Southeast Asia, true wild populations are rare and remain poorly understood.
